"Share some good music" Friday

Sounds like a great experience, Laurent! Not my kind of music obviously, but always great with live events and seeing your best buddy perform

There aren’t many famous people that came from Jacksonville area (Pat Boone, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Limp Bizkit and Slim Whitman are the first that come to mind at any point). Derek Trucks, however, is probably the best out of that small group. Dude was a literal child prodigy. While he has a pretty hefty fanbase, I feel like he should be far more well known than he is.

The fact that he absolutely blew away John Mayer and B.B. King is an added bonus.

Looks like TWRP has dropped an EP! Friends of the Blues | TWRP

Their bass player is a beast!

Had the fortune to see him in Knoxville, TN in 1997 - kid was amazing, albeit (obviously) not as mature and ā€œwell-roundedā€ as now

Obviously nothing like anything posted prior on this thread, but…. This is RAW music….

These girls are triplets attending the University of Georgia…. Two guitars and a banjo - Just missing a bass…. Anyone willing to add a bass line???

Keep On Thumpin’!

They popped up a bit ago in some feed of mine and I’ve been watching them ever since!

They are great.

Babymetal is back in all their bombastic glory. This song they are calling the rebirth of Babymetal, the first song with a third member singing since Yui was injured in 2017.

The lyrics are loosely ā€œIt’s a metal festival, so sing sing sing and dance dance dance. We’re all fools so join usā€

For all that this is a rebirth, the themes of individuality, expression, and community are old ones for the girls.

Plus it has a dirty bass tone to die for

In lives, Momo adds a metal growl at the end of her Kabuki section. Wish they had it in the studio

I must admit I am not very keen on their music, but always listen when you post.
This one though - I REALLY LIKE it, a LOT.

Probably one a lot of people haven’t heard, specifically people outside the Parrothead fandom. Either way, while a lot of people only know Jimmy for Margaritaville, he’s got some pretty damn fantastic songs across many genres. While it may be heresy to say so, Margaritaville is likely one of his worst songs taking into account his whole catalog.

That being said, the bass line of this particular song is a lot of fun to play along with and can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be.

It will be interesting top see if this is their new direction. If so, I’m for it.

In Japan, artists are commonly signed to a 10 year contract. Babymetal was signed with Amuse Entertainment. Who also manages Perfume and One OK Rock, and actors, TV shows etc.

The 10 years is over. They have different management now, are no longer under the thumb of Amuse, and the first thing they did was add a third member and release this song. It bodes well
