Santigold is very cool when they rock - but the more ācommercialā stuff is not for me!
Itās the same with āThe Warningā (a little far fetched, but ok). They can really rock, and then they can be a marketing-driven girlie band tooā¦
Santigold is definitely pop now but she did not start that way and IMO I suspend judgement.

I think youāre missing some very specific cultural tropes here. There are some fundamental pieces of Americana called out and made fun of there in an obvious way, but there is also an additional underlayer that might not make sense unless you are an exceptionally cynical American like me.

Been watching this video over and over of late. Yes performing Roundabout with Geddy Lee standing in for the late Chris Squire. Itās a hell of a performance. Bonus points for my original keyboard hero Rock Wakeman.
