"Share some good music" Friday

Everything I’ve heard them do has been wonderful. He is not only a fantastic vocalist and a gentleman, but he is generous on stage and never hogs the limelight - despite his legendary status.

He played a small gig in Aberdeen (Scotland) last year and afterwards he went to my old tiny local basement bar and listened to the open mic night. Apparently he spent time with the musicians and never once played the rock star.

And I know I’ve shared this before, but it is worth alerting more of you to it. John Paul Jones giving it some, but despite his status he is almost overshadowed by some of these other artists - especially the Moari singer (imho).

Agree. I keep going back and listening to the album her and David Byrne did together. Love it.

This tune is good through.

JPJ has always let others take the spotlight. Seems like a low key guy, well, for a rock icon

Gary Numan has really set his daughters up for a hell of a career. Here’s Gary and Persia Numan together in 2018 (I think she was like 11 then, just a kid onstage with Dad the rock star, totally normal ):

Here are two of his daughters now solo:

Awesome to see him passing it on to his kids, much like Peter Hook and Jack Bates.

"And the Third Angel sounded
And a star fell from heaven
Burning as it were a lamp
And it fell upon the third part of the waters…

08:23 here in Scotland and I can’t think of a better way to start a Friday than this on loud, smiling and attempting to get my old bones shuffling to the tune whilst sipping a large coffee … .have a great weekend all.

Ps. He is 77 yrs old here and his voice is still silk!

The Ox at work.

Story behind this song is that this is the first take of the song. John says he was just fooling around and improvised the whole bassline as a joke. They kept it. Genius.
