I really like Metric. They have some acoustic versions of songs that are glorious - that was my inroad for them. Their full production stuff (I only know older material) is great as well.

I think your first new, original composition posted here, @terb, will start the neo-sludge movement - I am convinced of that!!
sludge :
proto-sludge / pre-sludge (which is somewhere between stoner or grunge, and actual sludge) (this song is VERY early pre-sludge, even pre-stoner in fact) :
post-sludge (which is the sludgy side of post-metal) :
not sure … post-desert-rock would work, but not really neo-sludge 
another of my original compositions would work better in this role :
pretty much a sludgy song with an almost electro feel (this thing is 8 yr old )

I might be getting old, Laurent, but I am sure we have had the first one before, and also your own song… But, a good time to introduce your previous creative output to the new folks on the forum!! And to get a primer on the degrees of sludgeness out there…
By the way, you guys should have done the soundtrack for the Blair Witch Project… you must have had the same cameraman
