Those Opeth tracks are amazing @terb!
Not a band I’ve listened to but wow!
Thanks! I haven’t heard that Blondie tune before!
It’s a classic .
One of my old favourites “Terravision” recorded a cover which is pretty good too
quick google search…originally released in 1976 by the Nerves, later by Blondie and a few more since then…who knew?
They are a great band , @Tokyo_Rat,
Clem Burke on drums is amazing, we have seen them live 3 times.
Classic solid music.
Cheers Brian
Ooh. That’s good. I am going to have to spend some time with that.
Classic. One of the best megatours I ever saw live was Debbie Harry, The Ramones, and Tom Tom Club.
That triggered strong memories of a club I regularly snuck in to as a teen in the '80s which would have had that on heavy rotation
This guy writes some great lyrics in his spoken word stuff.
Not everything translates so well to music, but some are great.
“The average man can dream dreams of a path he’s never walked
But when that path’s your day to day, your dreams become warped”
“People underestimate the value of dreaming
That which you aspire to provides a roof, a ceiling
In particular the dreams that there’s no way of achieving”
“If the heart is a house, I have a blood stained lawn
My public portraits immaculate but there’s blood on the easel”
Hi @terb,
I just listened to the whole track whilst sitting at my work computer,
I am gunna check them out further on Spotify, when I head out on the road.
It is easy to listen to.
Cheers Brian
Hi @terb,
I just tried to find them on Spotify,
They are called “stoned river”
Or am I mistaken because they are either obscure or I have the name of the band wrong?
Cheers Brian
Hi @terb,
All good , they are called “Earth”
Just found and started listening to “the bees made honey in the lions skull”
Cheers Brian
Great song Mac,
The bass player holds the bass in a really upright position.
Great guitar riff.
Cheers Brian
no, it’s not the same band (I know Earth also). here the band is Stoned River and the album is Earth. it’s a recent debut album, I’m not surprised you don’t find it on Spotify but here it is on YT :
