"Share some good music" Friday

I totally get where you’re coming from @T_dub.
I’ve struggled to like so many bands that friends have raved about ( Megadeath,Nivarna, to name 2) . I’m more of a song person with the exception of a couple of bands who I have followed for decades.

Hi @terb,
I listened to “cooker” and then “herculoid”
I appreciate the music, good drum work, plenty of screaming.
Sum it up by saying “different “
Cheers Brian

Wow I’d never heard them, thanks! Love the very compressed sound.

Nirvana is on my list too.

Alice In Chains is actually OK, but I have a resentment towards them, which is not really their fault, but it is what it is.

Aww man. I totally get the intractible bit where a band triggers memories that bring association with feelings at the time. But Nirvana is too bad, as Bleach-era Nirvana was amazing, more 'core, and very different from the later stuff.

Nirvana was on a different level than most of the other grunge acts.

But people can’t help those kinds of associations, totally understood.

Nirvana is not really a memory associated dislike, I just never could just never like them.

Way different then the AIC dislike.

I bought tickets to see Ozzy and Motörhead at the Oklahoma State Fair ( I was on an extended visit at my sisters house in OKC) and was looking so forward to seeing Motörhead mostly, Ozzy was just a bonus.

The VERY DAY OF THE SHOW, that morning, listening to the radio, I heard is announced that
Motörhead has left OZZY to join the Metallica and GnR tour, they will be replaced by AIC.

I already hated Metallica, was not much for GnR, and was pretty neutral on AIC, but since I could not blame Lemmy, I mean, come on, it’s “Lemmy” for gods sake, it couldn’t possibly be his fault, it was poor Layne Stanly’s fault, who earlier that week, broke his leg, so he could get pain relievers prescribed, so he wouldn’t be too dope sick to preform, so he was on stage on crutches and in a cast.

Years past, I don’t really hold a grudge for them, I am fine with AIC, but its a good story to tell, cuz, its true.
I also more closely identify with Layne, and AIC then Motörhead when it comes down to it. Motörhead is known for Speed, AIC for the opposite of Speed, which is where I come from, so, that’s the memory behind that.

Nirvana, never really liked, period
Metallica-sold out
Mega wimp- old out-later then Metallica, Probably because they saw the money Metallica was making, but sold out but even worse, cuz their soft core Speed metal really sucks.
Enuf on the bad stuff, cuz there is so much good stuff to my ears out there to focus on.

“Alice in Chains” MTV unplugged its brilliant, Mike Inez is a great bass player.
Worked with Ozzy, is awesome on the heart “live in Seattle” DVD as well,
That’s why everything is open to interpretation, I have Nirvanas unplugged live DVD as well, they do a great cover of David Bowie’s “the man Who sold the world” the guitar is awesome on it.

I loved Lemmys work on Hawkwinds albums,
Warriors on the edge of time is a great album.

@Tokyo_Rat Gotta love the Fearless Flyers! They recently released a new EP with more great stuff! Highly recommend anyone to check out all their work.

*Edit: Duh, that song is on their new EP! I got confused because it’s a cover of an old Vulfpeck song, so I forgot!

And hallowed be his name :metal:t2::joy:

Another band I hate with a passion is the Beatles ! My parents in their wisdom sent me to a guitar teacher when I was knee high who only taught Beatles music and that led to a lifelong dislike and me quitting lessons.
