Holy shizzle, I brought a new bass home today in my red gladiator also. I put the big box in the bed and the smaller box that it came in in the back seat because I’m in S Florida!

OK I literally just got to unpack it so these pictures still have the new bass smell! I’ve been jonesing for that Ernie Bell Sweetwater exclusive emerald green color! I’ve almost pulled the trigger on the Bongo 5 in this color a few times, but I slept and they were gone. Now they have a few Bongo 5s I picked up a Bongo 4 a while back, so I settled on the Stingray.

This one is the Stingray Darkray 5! I’m thinking it’s going to be perfect! This thing is light!

Don’t mind the background mess, this is my gun/weight/mead fermenting room/bass room!

Thank You! When I saw the new bass in the bed of a red Gladiator coming home the same day I brought mine home in a red Gladiator, I couldn’t resist!

I like the mono case, I was surprised it was a nice as it is, from the pictures, I thought it was a nice gear bag. I have a hard case that came with my Bongo, so I have both now!

Thanks, I was using my G&L Tribute bass to pay tribute to your post above! I really couldn’t se all the finger prints until I saw the pictures in direct sunlight. I must do a better job wiping them down.

First impressions of the Bass VI. String spacing is really tight, no finger plucking for me. I hate the bridge, have not changed it out yet. I ordered a pickguard and it’s on the way from Australia, but the bridge rattles when I pick the E a lot. Annoying.

Other than that it’s fun to play. It sounds very guitar-ish, would fit in with some rockabilly type songs. Kind of jangly. And where it sounds really, really good is palm muting. I am playing Peter Gunn on it and it’s amazing.

Or anyone else, they are not built for that.
Picks out, brother!

I put on a thumbrest thinking I might use fingers and it is kinda possible, but it is fun to use with a pick.
I have the laBella flats on mine, they are expensive and a bit long for the Harley Benton but they do make it sound like a bass.
Wondering how the strangle switch on yours sounds?
