Short Love

Jeeps are like mountain bikes, high powered cars are like road bikes. Both are fun in different ways!
I lived near a NATO tank exercise area … in the weekends we went there with 4x4s sometimes. BIG FUN! I get it!

I’ve done Hell’s Revenge. I’ve made it up the Escalator.

Did you have an Italian license plate? My experience with a German license plate abroad is: I’m being hunted by police.
I was never stopped while driving a car with Dutch license plates, now I think about it, hmmmmmm…

That looks very cool!
Also with a mountain bike, which was my first thought, to be honest.

Nope, I had AFI plates (American Military) plates.

Ah!

But then you had NATO status, right?
My father was officer in the Dutch Air Force and we lived most time abroad.
He also had special plates and we all had a NATO status stamp in our passports … meaning: national police could not arrest us and we could always ask for Dutch MPs in case we ran into conflicts.
If you had something similar, maybe the Italians didn’t want to bother?

I was there in a NATO billet. I was on the staff for the commander of Allied Forces Southern Europe (AFSOUTH). I traveled all over the place with the 4 star. Got up to Mons at least twice a year with the Admiral.

Lot of mountain bikes out there too

People comment on modding basses and I’m like you should see what I’ve done to a perfectly good jeep

Cool!
Why didn’t you get a Prius, like everybody else? Modding a jeep, what a peculiar idea!

(just kidding :-))

There are a lot of musicians on one of my gig but regardless. My 3rd Steve Harris mod was sold to a non musician at a gig.

My modded bass doesn’t look very stock, some people would stopped and asked about it a once they heard “modded” they know it’s one of a kind. And a wise mod guru, @Reasonably_Happy , said to me,

It’s not about appealing to everyone, it’s about that one person who can’t live without it.

Not many have heard about RayRoss Saddleless bridge let alone seen one in person.

This is true. “Modded” or “upgraded” is generally a death sentence for a public listing in terms of mass appeal- if you’re lucky you’ll get folks looking to buy parts off of it.

But if you can find that one dude…

I have had much better luck selling in general after removing the mods and selling with the stock parts, and then selling the mod parts separately. The one exception is with Fenders and pickup upgrades as people generally understand this is common.

But even then you won’t usually recoup the value of the upgrade.

I personally almost always stop reading when a listing in reverb says modded. that’s just me though. also as a long time Jeep owner I have no problem with that derailment here

Me too. Though I bought a few modded bass because that’s the one I gotta have, :joy:

I agree, modded often they ask more and sometimes say the mods alone are worth the asking price. I’m outy… :jbass: :sunglasses:

I like the look of the Ray Ross bridge but can’t see an action adjustment.
And I have never seen one in real life.

@Al1885 knows all about the Ray Ross bridge.

It looks very cool but it does have its quirks. I’m sure Al can elaborate.
