Yeah they do videos of a lot of their custom shop work, good trolling for bass porn on their site for sure.

Even their entry level Rockbass line is really well made. Made in China but inspected by Warwick before shipping with their logo. I love mine.

They make a short scale Corvette, for the topic:

My findings are that; yes cutting down long scale strings does work.
With round-wounds at least.
I made sure to bend the string ends before cutting so no unraveling of the wire wrap.
You have to cut the thicker strings a bit shorter than you would usually.
A .100 gauge E-string fit in the tuner no problem.
The A and E strings don’t want to wrap the tuner and needed some careful encouragement with a pliers to wrap tightly and make a straight line to the nut.

Also, old string are grimy.

Thanks for the update, @infra - sounds like it wasn’t entirely pain-free

Some people swear by boiling their strings. I’ve never had the inclination to do it myself though.

I tried that many years ago with guitar strings, and had a very short lived marginal improvement. Not something I’d bother to try again.

However, within the last year, I’ve tried soaking a set of old bass strings for a couple of days in Methylated Spirits (US = Denatured Alcohol) with very good results.

This worked for me

Just “slap the s**t” out of them. :grinning:

Interesting technique. I’m imaging all the grunge flying through the air…

That is classic Danish… the Danes mostly don’t realize how appropriate/non-appropriate some of these expression are they pick up from movies, or in which settings you should and shouldn’t use them

There’s some classic Danish films as well. I love them. Particularly thrillers.
‘Headhunters’ (2011) is a firm favourite.
Nicholas Winding Refn’s ‘Pusher’ trilogy of films also springs to mind. As does ‘Max Manus Man of War’ and other films starring Aksel Hennie.
‘Flame and Citron’ (2009) is also excellent.

For sure! Headhunters is Norwegian, though  And so is the Max Manus movie - but they probably have Danish actors in them… happens all the time
There is a lot of really good Scandinavian Noir coming out the last ten years or so…
(maybe we should take the movie discussion to the Lounge, however…)

I never said to do it. I’d just buy new strings. Sounds interesting though. Let me know if it works.
