Love the expression!

It’s not that I don’t want to discuss (I reallly really really do!!!), it’s more that I try to respect forum rules.

You know that topics like these escalate quickly, and one of the good things about good natured BassBuzz is, that we all can keep the peace, no matter what creed, colour or culture we have.
That is a very precious thing on social media!!!

I know that I can appear provocative (but that’s really just my humour that gets lost in translation ^^), and others might be very emotional about some topics. But there are boundaries that - in this case - I am happy not to cross.

Of course, people can always send me private messages, if they want to get into a gentlemanly fight! Religion, 2nd amendment and (US) politics are some of my favourite topics - so bring it on

Let’s not and leave it at that.

Dropping “thread turds” is not how someone respects the forum rules. It’s playing a game with forum rules to see how far you can push it. Pushing that boundary, for the sake of your own edification, is inherently disrespectful of the other people on this forum.

There is a whole world of other forums for discussing all of that. This is not that place.

I was seriously not trying to do that, @eric.kiser . If it appeared that way, I sincerely apologize!

Hmm, no, I don’t buy it. I think as a self professed psychologist you are fully in control of your communication, you are doing this on purpose to be provocative, and show contrition when called out on it. It’s passive/aggressive behavior, and you should stop it.

At least that’s how it appears to me. How you react to this will be an interesting tell.

I cannot perform under pressure

But I can tell you, that I only know three states of communication: being honest, being funny and being silent.
So, not buying it means that you think I was not honest in my statement - which I was!

That’s not what I said, and I am not going to engage your reframing of a simple statement I made. Either take the feedback or don’t, it’s up to you.

I’ll take it and say you’re wrong

You see, the best part about my feedback is that I don’t need to be right, I just need to sit here and let you keep talking

Well said, @eric.kiser.

I had Pau Fero on an ESP LTD Stream, and it looked and felt like rosewood. I don’t know how Fender manages to make it look and feel cheap.

I just want to note I have quit most social media because it has turned into a shouting match between people who don’t even discuss. This place is a respite from such things and I value that, and I would hate to leave, but I would drop it like a bad penny if we got into turd talk.

Heh, it is pretty but I have a thing against pick guards for some reason. Out of curiosity what is the preference for the BB over the TRBX? Obviously the pickups are different but I’m not very good at that, even after watching Josh’s Precision vs Jazz video. I could rarely tell the difference. (I’m definitely going deaf unfortunately)

I’ll probably lean to the ESP still on the matte black, I just love that overall design in both colour and body shape.

ha… settle.

The Spector NS Pulse is is a close contender for both matte black and deep purple, but there is something about the body shape that doesn’t quite scream ‘yes’ for me over the ESP or Dingwalls.

One of these of course will have to be a 5 string at least as well.

I’m 95% sure that pick guard isn’t covering anything and you could just remove it.

Wouldn’t that leave holes?

at least screw holes obviously

Just put purple anodized screws in the holes and call them decorative.

That’s what I thought.

shudders - that hurts the OCD on so many levels.

You can take it off, some people do

Personal preference takes for feel, sound and overall quality and feature set. Quality-wise it’s a professional level instrument. The TRBX504/604 is great too and totally giggable. Both are excellent basses.

While I love double humbuckers, for the type of music I am in to a P pickup seems to work better for me. This is a personal preference thing, the pickups on your 604 are outstanding.

The 40mm neck on the BB feels better to me.

The 604 comes in a nicer variety of colors than the BB, which has two options (classic burst or Full Goth/Metal).

Also the Warwicks, sure. I have owned two Warwick Streamers (basses derived from the Spector Euro LX) with that shape and while I think it looks good, it just doesn’t sit right on me. Still, great looking instruments.

Correct.

Sure, but you could screw screws back in if they bothered you

Peter Hook’s signature BB does away with the pickguard so it is more like a classic BB like his old 1200S. I would buy one of these immediately if I saw one but they never turn up. It’s based on the 734A, but is red, loses the J pickup, and reverses the P. Plus no pickguard.

I would buy one of those in a heartbeat but they made very few and they got snapped up.
