it exists but it’s not common
Hey @GR001,
The most important thing you mentioned is that it sounds good to you, and ya know what you only have to please yourself👍and it’s obvious you love playing your bass😎
Ernie Ball flats are awesome, I run them on my basses👍
Cheers Brian
So I had a store credit from musicians friend for about $200. What should I spend it on, hmm. I could get a pedal… Hmm. Yes, or I could get a 5 string mikro and gig bag! Almost got the 4 string orange one, but no! stay strong, get the 5 string only comes in black one. I christen thee… Junior!
Welcome into the family Black beast
@itsratso.
Nice pick up👍
Cheers Brian
Oh killer! Curious how the B string feels on a scale that short
The Mikro is just a cool little bass.
I mean, 200 bux, why wouldn’t you
I have that one. its cute. it was Junior to the SR300 of the same color I HAD. But I used the GC 6mo return window to take it back and apply it to my Ray 4HH. I have been thinking about taking it back and getting the Ray 34 black ash
Yeah, cheap way to try out 5 strings.
so I shouldn’t show you my $200 5 string then?
Or
my $75 five string?
Nah, yours is cool, I actually would love to get one of those Mikro 5 strings. and of course, now that I typed that, one will show up on Offer Up, or Let Go within a day, or hours. The Orange Mikro showed up on Let Go within 2 hours of me saying I wanted one here.
Oh yeah, there definitely are some nice full scales at that price, but you know I love the short scales too.
Yeah, This was not a SUPER STEAL at $200, but I could easily sell it for profit.
But its freaking awesome, and barely feels like a 5 string, maybe a 4 and 1/2 string.
And then this one ended up only being $75. And its worth a little something more then that.
Stuck away from home since March because of covid shutting down air travel, I got myself a second bass. Tried a few basses and this Ibanez 655E was just so comfortable to play, I bought it right then. Good thing, as music stores closed the next day for lockdown.
It feels more like I’m wearing it than playing it. Playing around with the active/ passive switch and the midrange boost/ cut switch when I get too tired to play sometimes. After almost 6 months of endless lockdown, this device is helping me to stay (almost) sane.
SR’s are great. Such a solid line of basses. Yours is gorgeous too.
Another SR owner here and I know what you mean about wearing it. Very light and playable
yeah, I think I outgrew mine. it felt so nice and comfortable to play (WEAR) for a good long time. Now it feels like its a little tight and don’t fit go good anymore. now I feel like I am wearing my Ray4, and it fits like a glove. I still love the SR, and play it often, but the wearing it wore off a little. maybe oneway I will shrink back down and it will fit like a glove again.
Yours is really beautiful. maybe if I jump up a few notches into an SR600 it will fit better. I have SR400 from around 2010
After my nonamecheapo amp finally went kaputt I got my new practice amp. Sounds good to me!
And finally having a aux in and headphone plug will help with the course a lot I feel!
I love that bass. I was stuck in my decision between a 650e and a TBRX604 which I went with. They are very similar in a lot of ways. I ended up going with the Yahmaha mostly because it caught my eye just a bit nicer, but they are both so beautiful it is still hard to say if I chose right. I LOVE the look of those SR fretboards that have the abalone inlay. Glad to hear you are loving it. I hope to be speaking as highly of my TBRX after several months of heavy use as you are your SR!
@EBXEBX Nice bass.
Where is home and where did you get stuck?
Oh sweet! Tell me how you like the Promethean. I almost bought one. Cute compact practice amp with a lot of boom. Is that the 300W one?
I’m American, but moved to Vietnam a few years ago. Came to visit for the first time and look what happened lol.
