Sorry @T_dub that’s not exactly my style of music. I really like Frank as a person and respect him as a bass player, but their music is not exactly in my wheelhouse.

I was going to put those flats you sent me on her, but then I noticed I had a set of black nylon tapes on my shelf and thought, “hmmmmmmmmmm?”
They sound great on the ESP and look quite dashing.

Mostly joking of course. But they generally make guitars known for their aggressive attack.
Which doesn’t really mean anything, it’s just kind of a funny bass to buy and put flats on.
You should put whatever strings on it you like best.

I put flats on any bass. You know how much I hate rounds. Flats is my sound and my feel. I don’t think I should be restricted as to which bass on which I use flats. I’m actually rather surprised you didn’t comment on my putting tape wounds on the ESP.

I actually thought about leaving the rounds on, and played it for about a half hour with a glove on my fretting hand. I finally gave in to my inner desires and yanked those rounds off LOL

Ha, yeah, if you don’t like 'em, you should definitely swap them out.
That’s a really nice looking bass and I’m betting you’ll love it. ESP makes really good guitars.

I swapped out the factory rounds for the MJC Ironworks rounds I put on my other ESP P/J active bass and I like the tone a LOT.
The feel is good, but not as good as the Labella RX stainless rounds I have on the TRBX305, but going to leave them for now.
Can’t wait to hear it with the tapes on it @PamPurrs
