Show Us Your Basses (Part 1)

Thank you @John_E
I actually bought the Rickenbacker from @TNKA36
I do have the V in the pipeline but I’ll have 3 spare single bass stands too :joy:

Definitely recommend Hercules. Solid bit of kit, adjusts to headstock and locks in

I bought 2 today @alexmorrison14,
That’s good feedback,

OK . . . I’m sorry @PamPurrs and @Mac . . . . can I come out now?

I promise I’ll be good . . . and I won’t mention roundwounds anymore :innocent:

This is basically the same one. Only the base is different. It’s probably even more secure since you have 3 holes that you can drill. I personally like the cosmetic of the wood base. So yeah, would still recommend

The ones I got are different Jerry @JerryP,
They have a natural wood back board piece,

If you ordered the Hercules 5, you can get additional spacers to hold 8-9!

On my way to Guitar Center to pick up a few. They have both in stock so I’ll do a final evaluation. Thanks @Paul & @TNKA36

I think the wood would be better for hanging in Drywall with wall anchors, but if you get on a stud, then you would be ok with the metal one, as it may dig into the drywall over time with constant replacing of the bass.
Maybe not, but just in case.

It’s lovely! Looks like it’s capable of flight and getting into dogfights, too. Supremely badass.

Thank you @chordsykat
It’s my small but very dear tribute to Lemmy :spades:

I’m not telling anyone what to do. However as a finish carpenter I’m going to recommend your wall hanger goes into a stud. Wall anchors into drywall are ok for towel bars and toilet paper holders. If they fail, oh well. If the drywall anchor fails and your bass hits the deck, not so good.

I used to use Hercules but switched to String Swing. Made in the USA. Great quality and easy to grab the bass.

Lastly if you can’t hit a stud where you want the location of the hanger you could always mount a wall plate. Make sure it’s thick enough and you can screw the hanger into that. I made one below as I didn’t want the hangers 16" apart as the guitars were too close.

Those look really nice Barney! It’s about the same price as the Herculus.
Thanks for the tip with the wall plate. :ok_hand:

Are the ones on your photo ash, cherry, oak or black walnut?

Yes the fretboard is birdseye maple. The neck is totally gorgeous. (I’m not worthy).
