Show Us Your Basses (Part 1)

New info.
It is custom made for sure. From two sources i got the same info. My mother told me that my father took it from a luthier in the beggining of 80’s and it took him few months to make it and to calibrate it. Also a coleage of the band of my father told me the same.
Not Jolana. The logo is also some custom made, maybe a replica of Jolana logo.

Go Slinky in the Ibanez I reckon @T_dub .
I’ve got light gauge on my SR and they play very nicely

Glad you found out more information. Now all you need to do is clean it up, see if it can be restored to a nice condition!

So many cool Basses on site, I had to show off mine as well! ;3. She’s not as fancy as some, but this is my Bass I call ‘Woodstock’. She’s so far my first and only…picked her up August of this year…so we got some good years ahead of us. I think she’s a Washburn Bantam?…I’m not totally familiar with that kind, as I bought her second hand. I believe she’s about 15?…give or take =3

Great find. I can’t recommend anything, because to me they’d both be keepers. Yeah, I know, that’s par for this forum

Anyhoo, here is a link with some specs for the Ibby. Apparently the pup is passive with an active boost preamp. You need to scroll down a bit.

Certainly nothing fancy, but doing the job just the same. This is the Fender Squier Affinity PJ Bass. This was packaged with the 15G Rumble Amp.

Nothing to be ‘ashamed’ of. They’re perfectly serviceable and great for learning on. I have a P-bass clone and I think it’s the bees knees. In fact I sold my first bass, an Ibanez GSR200 and replaced that with it. I would suggest upgrading the amp at some point, but you’re fine for a while.

That’s a seriously fine looking P-Bass right there! :sunglasses:

That what she is?…I had no idea! XD

Yes. Split coil (see the two black rectangles??) pickup approximately in the middle between the bridge and fretboard - that’s the P-bass config.

BTW that’s a beautiful looking instrument.

Sometimes I feel if it weren’t for bad luck I’ve had no luck at all.

The trebel control does not work, opened it up and the soldering seems solid.

Ya your batting average is dropping man.

Huh…well it would explain why I seem to like the precision ‘type’?..kind?..I’m not sure what to call it…that’s kinda neat! XD. thanks!, I totally fell in love with her all ‘natural’ look, the guy said she was a good starter Bass. And at first I wasn’t sure, but after practicing and learning a few things, I can’t put her down. Wouldn’t trade her for the world =3

Well I traded my last guitar for another bass. :see_no_evil: It’s a Bacchus Woodline417 jazz bass. You don’t see those often around here.

I purchased this exact package to do the Bass Buzz course. It was perfectly fine to get me through it. I’ve since purchased two other ‘better’ basses, a Jazz and a double humbucker Ibanez. These made me realise that I the electronics in the Squier are a bit so/so in comparison, and so I’ve recently upgraded the pickups in it to the EMG Geezer Butler PJ set and it is sounding FINE - a lovely growly P bass. The Squier is a great little bass in it’s own right but it’s also a brilliant bass if you ever decide you want to start doing some modifications. There are plenty of other threads that go through it here.

LOL - I’ve been tinkering with that song and can’t get that line out of my head.
