I’m pretty sure I’ve read (either here or on TalkBass) that the Rumbles are based on SWR amp tech, and I have been told by the guy that literally designed my Genz Benz cab that the newer Rumble cabinets (and maybe the combos?) are based on GB tech. This kinda tracks since the Rumble 4x10 is really close in dimensions to my Focus FCS-410t and basically identical weight. The weight matters because typically bass 4x10s fall into 3 weight ranges: 50lbs, 70lbs, and 90lbs+ but these are 60lbs as they are a hybrid of ceramic speakers (heavy AF) and lightweight construction. GB used custom drivers and designed the cab around the driver, which takes a lot of engineering maths. They wanted a cab that was a mix of “classic ceramic tone and modern tone” )and funnily enough, Genzler continued this in the Nu Classic line)
I digress, but I just figured I’d mention it somewhere that newer Rumbles (Fender bought GB over 10 years ago) are interesting cabs imo, and of course the advertising is funny to me while being technically correct (for that Fender bass tone lol…).

I loved my cheap-o Hofner so much I decided to place an order for a German built ‘62 (McCartney) reissue. However, a completely mint used one came up on talkbass locally! I was beastie too to buy used sight unseen ans no one is selling them of late for anything reasonable. So, order cancelled and I brought this home today. It doesn’t even look played. All the case candy in a mint case as well.

I’ve got a cheap copy with LaBella flats on it that sounds ten times bigger than it physically is. I’ve never played a real one but can only imagine. Can’t wait to hear what you think of said Beastie.
And I’m sure a new practice room/instrument family photo is in order. If for nothing more than completing the mental image of my happy place if I wasn’t caged in this tiny condo with no actual personal space.

Indeed the cheap ones with labellas are really good.
This has the original Hofner strings which are actually just Pyramids branded Hofner. I’ve got a fresh set of Labellas just waiting for it but will be a few days before I can swap and set up properly. It’s set up very well now.

My plan is to do the entire Abbey Road album on this and the Rickenbacker (Mean Mr. Mustard is already done, will redo She Came in Through the Bathroom Window on the new Hofner. Most of Abbey Road is Rick but there are some that are Hofner. And I’ve been waiting for this to cover I’ve Got A Feeling from Let It Be.

This was on my bench last night trying to get the right fit, ended up going with the Schaller Bridge because I can adjust the string width. Jazz bass with P neck, awesome '62 control plate.

Awesome, if I didn’t see the headstock, and if it had a bound fretboard, I would almost think it were a G&L.
I am pretty sure you have that G&L Jazz bass that was at A&B music too, but maybe you got it somewhere else.
which is find, but &B is a great brisk and porter to support, especially with the cash deals they love to give
