Show Us Your Basses (Part 1)

Of course it wouldn’t be officially “Pam’s bass” without my rose. Sara took care of that today.

@AnotherJosh You right… you right :+1: I was able to raise it at the bridge to get it off of the first fret enough to play, about .006" (.152 for the metric guys) …about the thickness of the Sweetwater sticker that came with it

Yep yep it sure helps to know how to setup a bass, it saves you a lot of money and time.
I adjusted the relief on both my basses today. I had not touched them in a while, the neck had moved and the action was super high. A quarter turn and everything went back to normal.

Super easy once you know how everything works and minimal set of tools required.

Am pro 2?

Yes and I love it! I’m contemplating selling all others and picking another one up to setup with flats. I just love the feel of the ‘63 neck shape. 2 Am pros is all I need.

I’m taking a screenshot for future reference :sunglasses:

Ha ha yes famous last words! But I do plan to refinish it in purple sparkle! I need a purple sparkle bass, that hasn’t changed!

If you get the Ernie Ball flats, (i dont remember the gauge… maybe 45 - 100) they have a purple wrap at both ends that might pair well with that.

Yea I’m not sure how the V-Mod II pickups will pair with flats. I have to do some research. Pickup swap is always a possibility.

Hey check it out, @JoshFossgreen shows his P Basses in this video.

We mostly associate him with his Peavey but here he is with his two MIJ ‘62 Reissue Fender P Basses, one with rounds and one with flats.

I guess my idea of having two of the same with both string types is not crazy!

I know bassists who have 2 or 3 of the exact same bass, right down to color, and strings in case something happens during a gig or transport.
One had his Cort go poof during a gig, smoke and all coming out of it, and not too long ago once of his Fender jazz MIA got trashed during transport (long live luggage handlers and the reason that I don’t fly with my wheelchair). So having 2 or 3 identical means that you could in theory have these “incidents” yet know that you still have another but lets be real, it hurts when someone destroys your bass. Especially since this bass was a gift from his band members and crew.

I’d say so so so so so not crazy…
I have 5 - (flats/rounds/tapes) with varying pickups as well though…
The two Jazz basses have rounds and tapes (when I find the walnut one it will have rounds).
The PJs have rounds and flats.
