12" necks, Babicz bridges, basswood, 42mm on the P, 38mm on the J, gig bag basic specs of the basses
Love babicz bridge, a bit of a pain to install because you have to undo the saddle but so easy to adjust, especially on the fly.
Another notable bridge is the Fender Elite bridge. Made in Germany and super easy to adjust and intonation is a breeze.
Babicz is a good bridge.
Congrats. That’s a great first bass.
You have great taste. I also have one.
Nice bass, I have one exactly like it!
Thank you. This bass feels good to me.
My wife says that the color of it looks like Labradorite.
Agree, great first bass
My guess is they saw people paying for non-export models in this price range so decided to feed the need via Fender USA Vs Fender Japan.
The supply/demand, FOMO-based market strategy.
This is my very first post as I just started B2B about a week ago! My first bass is a Squier Bronco gifted to me by my best friend when I decided to get serious about learning to play. About three months ago I got my “big girl bass,” a Nordstrand Audio Acinonyx. I love it so much!! And because I apparently can’t stop buying gear, I picked up a Ubass three weeks ago. I travel a lot for work and the portability is intriguing.
Congratulations on your new gear and welcome!
Nice looking basses.
Love that “big girl bass “
Liking both those basses @astephens13
Tempted to get a U Bass in future myself
The U Bass is a lot of fun - I definitely recommend it. I leave it out and find myself picking it up several times a day. The fat rubber strings take some getting used to, though.
Just an FYI @mikeyjayjay you can buy U Basses with metal strings. Mine came with rounds but I put on flats. Great fun and surprisingly good sound for such a tiny bass. The sound in the video is obviously through the amp. Acoustically it’s very quiet.
Loving that bassline @Barney
Thanks for sharing the comparison video and the information regards string options
Dare I say, it looks like you were having more fun on the U Bass…
Ahhh, you have come to the right place Meet us in the GAS thread. You’ll fit right in
