My 54P is so versatile. It helps to have a good pickup along with a good tone control set-up. The guy that built it used top notch electronic controls. Just a quick twist and it goes from edgy with it all the way up, to muted and sublime with it turned down and all kinds of flavors in between. I would have never believed such a simple set-up could sound and play so good.

You know the funny thing is I owned about 10 pink basses and every time I list them they are gone faster than any other colors. I guess the business side of me took over. There are 2 pink bass project on deck for next week thanksgiving break.

I’ve never bought any instrument with a thought of resale value. I just buy what I like.

pink was a classic Fender custom color, called “shell pink”, probably one of the oldest custom colors :
