El cheapo ESP LTD 6-sting.
These go for ~$800 new, ~$500 used.
Was at Guitar Center last Christmas for $398 and I had $200 in gift cards from awards at work, so, I had to have a six-string.

It is actually quite good, sounds great, don’t play it enough (wonder why?) but can’t see myself upgrading it as it is pretty darn good as is.
I will show my wife this picture later this week when the 3 basses I have on order arrive. She will be happy that I only have enough to fill the bottom row
That was my record twice that 3 basses arrived in a week. One time 2 in one day and my wife was home, lol. No biggie, I “do” make a huge deal when I sell one, I make sure I don’t pack it till my wife’s home. Lol.
First Bass. I think I got lucky with this Fender Player Jazz Bass as it was on the used rack at my local GC. One of the guitar techs there was a bass player and she gave it her stamp of approval (I just handed it to her for a quick inspection). I made a minor truss rod adjustment when I got it home and adjusted the intonation and I think I have a winner. Now I’m off to learn how to play it and am looking forward to the Bass Buzz course.
I’m not and engineer but a mechanic of sorts for all of my adult life. I’ve watched like 1000 hours of “Dave’s World of Fun Stuff” videos on YT to have learned what to look for when setting up a guitar. I own a set of feeler gauges, a capo and the appropriate allen key, so I was equipped to do some real damage. From watching Dave, I understood why I had a little fret buzz and took a measurement to confirm that it was the neck being too flat. Just a little adjustment is all it took and everything just seems right now.
