That’s the one I have, @sanfordrick
Been very, very happy with it, too . . . really love the neck
Good luck with yours!

My Ibanez GSR190 as part of the Ibanez Jump Start package. Hey, what did I know?! I wanted a bass but had no real plans beyond learning to play! LOL
Now that I’m learning I’ll start looking around at what else is available…
Stay Tuned,
Jim
Hmm, I don’t know, looks like a fine P/J to me. I really like Ibanez necks for playability. I don’t see anything wrong with that bass a priori
Nope, but GAS is a whimsical mistress… and high maintenance too, at times ![]()
Well, finally time is on my side. Or better: my mindset
I bought this bass about 30 years ago, Have played it before, quit, restarted, had to quit again. Waited to long, yet never could sell it, just for the looks of it. So two years ago I sold the SWR combo and got that tourbus. Perfect for homepractising, roughly 6 months ago I wanted to start on the new journey, just couldn’t set myself to it. Again to much work stress, to little time. So now I cut my work hours by 2/3, rearranged my priorities. Started to rebuild my business, which will take about a year to take off. I can finally start my own band, again LOL. It’s been missing to long, far to long, playing music is just simple to much fun. I’m taking the plunge, just ordering the B2B course.
Just starting small, singing and playing my way up.
Very striking combination with the red & black, @Pal_Zero . . .
Welcome aboard, Joe
I know, used it for rock’n’roll, jazz, blues and folk songs. It fits my taste. I’ll be in my shed for the next month

Thank you Joe!
Thanks, @howard! I guess it will depend on how desperate I get for 24 frets as opposed to the 22 frets on the GSR190.
I’m good for the foreseeable future!
Stay Tuned,
Jim
@joergkutter - GAS? Sorry, this all new to me…
Stay Tuned,
Jim
Haha, of course, my bad, @JPHaggerty…
It’s the most common “ailment” among musicians (or really any hobbyist/amateur), namely the powerful drive to acquire new gear (often in the hope of becoming better at what one is trying to do) …affectionately called GAS - gear acquisition syndrome!
It’s an ailment, a plague, a curse, a mistress, a lure, a siren, a leprechaun, … - I guess you get it
@joergkutter got it! LOL
Finally got around to modding my p bass. It is a cheap bass made by Kona. I put in new Grover tuners, Seymour Duncan quarter pound pickup, new wiring from Gunstreet Wiring Shop, Gotoh bridge, and a Gotoh neck plate from Japan.
This took me most of yesterday afternoon to complete. The bass now is a monster. The Seymour Duncans are loud! The parts are worth more than the bass but it was challenging and fun to do the upgrades myself.
