Yeah but it’s still gold hardware.
Thanks! It was listed on ebay as Zebrawood, but dont believe Peavy made any zebrawood Cirrus basses.
Hi @John_E
I took measurements on my Gretsch G5123B and then looked at Musician’s Friend hard shell cases and found one that turned out to be just about perfect. It was a Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic bass Case and fits like a glove except it is about 2 inches short on length. But the body of the bass fits so snug I am not to worried about it.
It was one of their Member 25% off items through Aug. 4.
Gold hardware means nothing. Tone and playability reign supreme. @JoshFossgreen is the ultimate arbiter of worthiness.
?
I know gold, chrome, black will all sound the same.
But Gold is Mr T and I don’t want no jibber-jabber on my bass.
?
I can’t remember the last time Mr. T was a factor in what was OK on a bass.
Wait a minute…I remember now…it was never.
Ha, that’s making the assumption I know anything about my own basses. Bubinga and walnut might as well be cookie flavors to me, lol, I don’t know the difference.
What I will say about Cirruses (Cirrusi?) - I don’t love every one I’ve played, so don’t assume that they’ll all have the magic sauce just cuz I played one in some videos.
The magic sauce is what you are teaching @JoshFossgreen
I actually love the gold!
Don’t take any of this seriously @suegmc
I pity the fool who takes anything on this forum too seriously.
Is this where we talk about the importance of tonewood?
(I’ll see myself out now. Remember to tip your waiters and waitresses)
Josh is actually commenting on the consistency/inconsistency in some production basses. Some can be gems; some not.
I wasnt but I do love the way this bass looks!
Yes, I realize, but I was trying to pay him a compliment
Sorry about that! I am finding this forum difficult to follow conversations!
Oh, you’ll get used to it - and then it’s 100% fun!
No worries at all. I should have quoted @faydout’s joke comment so there wouldn’t have been any confusion.
It’s like herding cats around here.
