Hello friends I wanted to share with y’all my bass that I have been playing and working on getting custom made and designed for quite sometime (it started as a stock Fender squire jaguar bass)….. My lovely wife did the art work and writing and I had a great friend of mine custom paint the neck. I added new electronics in and and swapped everything to chrome and black…. Meet ….. (drumroll)…… Destrier!!!

Just put some nickel coated D’Addario’s on the SR500 and it sounds and plays amazingly. May have to invest in a few more sets

Here’s the current state of my bass. Fender Standard P in Candy Cola red. I mentioned in another thread that I swapped the pickguard and all the chrome for black. Knobs and pickguard screws, black. Bridge, black. Tuners and string tree, black. Red door? You guessed it, painted black. 
I also installed black S-Locks, which were a pain to find because that color seems to be out of stock everywhere.
(Okay, I left the chrome neck plate but it’s on the back so nobody sees that anyway.)

Looking good! Have you thought about black strings? I think they really finish the look of blacked-out hardware, but I know not everyone likes playing on them.

Hey John, where did you find a case that fits the sbv body? Is it custom?

That’s a really good question. The normal SBV case is a SBV-shaped thin soft gig bag. If he didn’t get that custom I would guess it was either specific to the SBV-J2 or the BJB (both very limited editions). Even my SBV-800MF just had the gig bag.

I’ve got an SBV-J1 and it only came with a gig bag. It’s amazing how little concrete info exists about the whole SBV series.
