Show Us Your Basses (Part 2)

The inlays are fabulous.

Maybe a tort pick guard to complete the look?

Yeah, why not? And carve my initials into the wood with a dull spoon while I am at it

I always liked the clear pickguards of the Woodline basses - why hide a gorgeous piece of wood!?! (OK, that sounds… a bit… uhm…)

That bass is a real looker.

I was on the patio when I heard @joergkutter got a new bass. Wow! I love a great bass that doubles as art. Congrats, you bastard.

@joergkutter now THATS bass porn. Amazing looking bass!

Not as amazing as @joergkutter new one, but she is here

And finally a Vintera bass with an accessible truss - yes Fender, it can be done

Still at work no chance to play, tuned it by feel to get some tension. Interestingly does not have a separate fretboard - it’s part of the neck itself. Lots of gloss, lots of Finger Ease in the future

Oh to be done with the day…

It’s amazing to you - that’s all that counts

Congrats!

Yours is a work of art, still amazed by it.

Mine is more a working class bass, and I am very pleased with it.

I want to swap the saddles though - vintage only goes so far

Congrachulayshons!

My Steve Harris P also has this. It’s quite comfortable to play. What’s the radius?

It’s old school, 7.25" with a 1.625" (41mm) nut. So pretty similar.

I’m not finding it comfortable to play yet. The strings are way high. I have a set of Fender Flats due tomorrow or Wednesday may wait for those to do a proper setup.

Also the neck is way glossy but that’s easy to fix.

It does boom. Nice pickup. Maybe do a Folsom Prison cover with it

I love the small radius. I have fairly gnarly fingers, so the rounded fretboard makes it easier to mute.

Nothing wrong with a bit of “working man” enjoy your new toy, mate.

I found an old set of D’Addario Chrome Flats on the shelf and put them on, and it sounds much better. I do agree it’s easy to mute.

I am in heaven here. It has that fat, in the pocket deep sound. And then I switch to the Ibanez, which is so light and easy to play. But harder to mute.

Thought I’d formally introduce my only bass for now, a 2013 Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV.

I bought it earlier this year from a local professional musician. It’s been well taken care of and expertly set up. I love the way it looks and plays! It’s not the lightest bass I’ve had, but I have the build for it.
