Thanks @HighlandBass ! I really like playing it - comfortable, flexible, quiet, and it’s got a really good sound. Only negative with this model - the bridge is not adjustable, so the only way to change the action is to shim the neck. Fortunately I’m happy with the way it’s set up, so all good! This one is active, my Squier VM JB is passive, and my Yami is switchable.
Surfing the net one day, I found a guy that would soak his strings in denatured alcohol to clean them. He would use a 1/2" PVC tube with a cap on one end, fill it with D.A. soak them a day or 3, and then pill them out. I tried it on a beater Squier PJ I picked up to flip, it definitely helped bring life back to the old strings it had on it, I eventually bought some inexpensive strings for it.
Just slap this shit out of them! This guy is classic! Lmao! Great reference @howard i can’t stop laughing!
That is funny and cool all at once, I’ll keep it in mind down the road.
He says it so seriously, but I can’t help but laugh!
The accent is what brings it home, as @joergkutter pointed out a couple years back.
Absolutely! Great find
Congrats. That’s a great bass.
My new Mustang, with Curtis Novak pickups, LaBella DTFs, and a Stellartone Tonestyler.
It sounds really good. Curse, that could also be the Novaks.
I have a second tone styler (Black Friday deal). Will try and figure out where to try that next. That’s down the road. Next up, doing b2b on a single bass.
Haha, nice! Throwback-Friday, yeah
Congrats @Wombat-metal !
Ooops….
Kramer Farrington A/E bass in pretty decent shape. Came with original case (that weights more than I do, lol).
I’ve been on the hunt for a black one for a long time and finally found a decent one for a decent price. Fairly thin body and very comfy to play (for the 5 minutes I did!) sound is great
That looks badass! Nice find.
Oops, I did it again….!
Sold this one at the weekend…
And bought this one last night. It’s bl00dy lovely!!
Just got to finish the Bass Buzz course
Well played! A Dingwall is an excellent reward for completing the course, even if is a little early.
Yes, I’m also a little ahead of myself in that I was going trade up to a Dingwall over a period of time, but saw an opportunity and went for it. The bass is immaculate and I got it for a very good price!
Yesterday was New Bass Tuesday! This was my Christmas present from my husband, but I have it early because I got to choose exactly what I wanted and need it for practice.
It’s an Ibanez TMB30 short scale. Our band has an accordion player, ukulele player, drummer, saxophonist and trumpeter, so space on stage is of the essence. I hated the stock strings so replaced those with some Ernie Ball Slinkys. The whole neck was a bit rough. Cleaned up and polished the fret edges, gave the fretboard a couple of coats of lemon oil, and the back of the neck was completely unfinished, so I went over it with some 1500 grade sandpaper, two coats of linseed oil and two coats of beeswax polish. It’s now lovely.
