Slap Technique on Ghost Notes

Hi all, I’m back again with my monthly slap question lol.

This time it’s ghost notes. I’ve noticed that when I do slapped ghost notes, especially at faster tempos, my slap technique goes out the window and I just end up bringing my whole arm/hand towards the bass and hitting it with my thumb, usually even keeping my thumb in contact with the string until I pop. Is this “bad” technique? Should I be doing the full rotation and bounce even on ghost notes?

Ghost notes is mostly the function of the left hand, especially slapping. The bonus on slapping is you can just tap on the left hand and create the same effect if you are in the pinch for time.
