So whats bass #2

I want to start saving for my second bass… I have a P bass… whats the thoughts on what type… Jazz bass 5 string ?

Everything depends on the genre(s) you play or want to play. If a Jazz fiver fits the bill, then go for it. If it doesn’t, save your money.

It’s a general fact that bass players evolve. In other words, you might start out with a certain type of bass that fits your goals - at the time. But for players who stay at it and end up expanding their musical horizons as they evolve, a different type/configuration of bass could conceivably make more sense as knowledge/experience builds.

Give it time. Figure it out. You’re good.

Based on Josh’s Bass Guitar reviews, I scoured the web and found a used Squier Vintage Modified Jazz to learn on as I go thru B2B. I’m not even through Module 1 yet, and GAS Guy has hit, as I’m jonesin for a Sterling Stingray Ray24CA. Since it’s late August, 2024, I’m gonna exert ‘some’ self control and wait till Black Friday/Cyber Monday to see what, if any deals are out there. HTH
