Somebody shoot me before it's too late!

Now I’ve gone and done it…I just bought a Kentucky electric bass mandolin! The GAS is going overboard! Oh, I forgot to mention that I DID order a bass effects pedal and it should be here by Friday.

Dammit. That’s awesome.

How’s it tuned? Normal EADG?
I think I need one.

An actual Mandobass?

Ah, that makes more sense. Although a mandobass would be freaking cool.

Not sure yet. I’d have to take it to Terry to be sure

That’s the one…and it’s coming from Andreas too.

Grabbing my guns, address please. Btw, thanks for the invite.

What the heck is a mandolin bass. It sounds so out there I want one. May be I’ll shoot myself too for getting one like yours then shoot you. Lol. Got pictures?

It’s actually NOT a Mandobass but a 4 string mandolin. John’s posted the exact model above.

Yep, I said the same thing. There are no videos or audio of one to figure out what kind of sound you get though.

I’ve never seen one of these before. It must be a real pain to play.

I just got back from seeing Terry at Guitar Junkyard (he has a Washburn 5 string for $160)…Tuned both new guitars, but the most interesting thing he had to say was about the 4 string mandolin. He’s dying to see it but he says it’s tuned the opposite of a bass (GDAE).

So it’s tuned up in 5ths from G? Interesting.

That’s the way I interpreted it but I’ll find out more once I bring it to him

Lots of instruments are tuned in 5ths like that, so it would make sense.
