Song 28 - "Only Happy When it Rains" by Garbage

This was the first song I did from the 50 songs list waaaay back in January. Only heard a couple of misplaced notes and the timing was pretty on point throughout your cover. Did you use any effects on the bass? I thought I heard some fuzz on it in the start but I didn’t hear it later on so perhaps it was just a auditory illusion.

Great work man.

Thank you @cheeze_pizza  Only had the drive on the Cali 400 amp to 5. Think the sound kind of suited the song, but that’s a matter of opinion. But great to hear that it was approved, then I’ll move to the other side.

Sounds tight prof, and very cool bass! This was one of my favs from the 50, I see you are over half way through the challenge :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thank you! All my tinkering with the effects pedal actually paid off this time. LOL

Thank you! Yeah - I loved this song back in the day and it was a lot of fun to play. Some songs on the list just roll off my fingers and this was one of them.

I’m almost 5 months into the challenge and now working the back side. My eyes are still on the prize! How did you stay focused and keep moving forward once you were deep in the list? And what is your advice for the transition from moderate to hard covers?

The best advice I can give is to be patient with yourself, and take the time you need to get the songs memorized and solid. It will probably take longer than 5 months to do the next half and that’s okay! I found alternating between the challenge and doing songs for fun helpful to break things up.

You’re doing great, keep at it!
