Wow and I thought I was bad. My mini wolf pack only has 4 (including a 15 year old mini dachshund, who is the alpha).

I have been Raising dachshunds for about 12 years, and always keep them when they are retired, as they are family  We are on an acre of horse property. My kids are grown, but no grandkids, so these are my babies.

This will be the first Christmas in 14 years without a dog. The one with the white neckerchief passed in November of 2023, she was 13 and a week. Her name was Sahara. The one between the bushes we had to let her go the beginning of November 2024. She was in such bad shape, sick for almost 2 years. She was 14 and 9 months, letting her go was brutal. Her name was Shelby named after Carroll Shelby.

They are absolutely beautiful. Such perfect souls. They are love and always wanted nothing more than for you to be happy. Take heart that you’ll be together again.

I’m really really sorry for your loss, losing an animal friend (I think the word pet doesn’t quite cover it ) is the worst.

Family member and loved one describes it best. Because that’s what we feel at the core of our being.

My 3 on a morning walk on the Jetée Thiery: Sparky (16), Peanut (11) and Ollie (14). I had to buy 3 seats on the flight to France from the U.S. when I moved here, one under each seat of the row in front on mine.
