Appreciable snow is a foreign thing to about as many folks to whom it’s a thing to actually reckon with on the regular. ![]()
I envy this skill set. In my not so humble opinion, I was a great hardware and software designer, but I am useless with hand and power tools. I even have to pay others to change the oil in my car.
My first experience with hand tools was woodshop in 8th grade. The first task was to plane 90° edges on a piece of 1x4. Everyone else in the class finished in a minute or two. My piece of pine got so small, I couldn’t get the plane’s blade to make contact with it. I asked the teacher for another piece. He said “no” and gave me the first ‘F’ I’d ever gotten in my life.
Obligatory pet pic:

If it makes you feel any better I have a degree in animation and failed out of art history twice.
Only once for me! UW-Madison 1975. I was an engineering major and took it as an elective. About half way through, I asked myself “why the f did I choose this course?” and dropped it. It was way more difficult and way less interesting than I was hoping for. Once I graduated and moved to Chicago, I joined the Art Institute of Chicago, where I was a member for 25 years. Love art. Hated art history! ![]()
Amazingly snow does not stick to my roof either!!! Sooner or later, we will hurricane test it, I’m sure!
Not a pet exactly.
My son and I went for a bush walk this arvo, very close to home and saw this fella
I always knew we had Koalas on the outskirts of Brisbane, never knew they were so close to home. We saw 2 today
Oh no! Drop bears!!
Gasly as in G.A.S. or, you know, the other one? ![]()
As in Pierre Gasly F1 driver. M granddaughter thought it would be a good dog name, so there you have it.
It’s hard to tell which of these guys is the pet, but their arrangement works for them. That’s the best anyone could ask for.
“Just warming up the gig bag for you! Adding some cat hair to protect the finish of the bass…”
and: “Can I play with the box?”
(Always let the cat play with the box, always! Buy something expensive, and redirect the attention to the magnificent cardboard box, which is every cat’s dream!)
Hopefully you saved the box! ![]()
I’ve had so much GAS lately that my foyer is full of boxes of all kinds of shapes and sizes. He’s in box heaven right now!
I have one that started chewing on things. He chewed the foam off of my bass stands and I caught him starting to bite a b string on my Darkray. This room has no door and a 10 foot wide opening. I had to put a 51 inch tall fence with a gate across it and top it with cardboard. He got my office chair and had designs for the topper on my Iron Maiden pinball machine!
If he was a Bel Mal he would not need the chair. Lol
