Squier Contemporary Active Cacophony

Most likely the connection issues. You can try to open it up and look under the pickguard to see what’s loose. A quick spray of DeOxit would do wonders too. On of my contemporary was quite dusty under the pickguard I gave it a quick burst of air and DeOxit tightened the bolts all good.

Hello! Sorry to hear you are having troubles @ethan_kh05. I was worried I had a major problem. With mine, opening up the back plate revealed that the controls were shoved into the wood. I moved it into place, tightened things up, and it was as good as new. That may not be your issue but it could be that simple. Beyond that, everyone else here was incredibly helpful and far more knowledgeable. Good luck!

I am not that handy of a person by my EQ knob is pretty lose just like yours and that might be the case!! I am going to take it to the closest service center and have them take a look next week! Wish me luck. Also, Do you have a before and after pictures of the controls being shoved into the wood and after you fixed it. Would really appreciate it boss.

I don’t remember if it has Allen screw holdin it to the shaft or it’s a press on. You can see if there’s any screw hole on the side of the knob. If not you can pull it off and tighten the nut.

Where are you, if you are in SoCal I could look it up for you.

Really simple to do. I saw a tip somewhere to use a piece of cheesecloth to wrap around the post and pull it up. Better than a metal tool so it doesn’t scratch the finish.

If it has a screw you don’t need to pull it off to tighten the nut, just tighten it in place

If it’s push-on, well, sorry; I hate them too.
