Squire Jaguar?

So fresh off of getting my 2nd bass I have an opportunity to trade stuff I have here at home for a Fender Squire Jaguar. Curious what folk’s experience has been and if you like yours.

It’s got p/j pickups on it and will be the first Fender bass I’ve ever held

Go and practice

That’s what makes you better

I have the 32” scale Classic Vibe Jaguar and I love it. I previously owned the 34” scale Modified Vintage Jaguar (now discontinued) that I did not like nearly as much, mostly because of the bass boost control knob which sounded terrible.

Yea I get that. This opportunity kinda fell into my lap. Just thinking about if I want to keep it or sell/trade again.

I’m obviously joking. But if you have a bass you already like save up your money for a nicer amp / preamp. That’ll pay off in the long game.

Jaguar is ok. They are different the noticeably offset body really sets it apart and the Japanese special runs are among the coolest electronics Fender ever offers. I had a few Squier Jaguars both long and short scales they are fun to mod for sure.

I also have the Fender Troy Sanders signature Jaguar which features about half the fun electronics of their Japanese counterparts

My first bass was a classic vibe jaguar. They sound good and feel great to play. My nephew has it now.

The only caveat is that the stacked controls can be a bit fragile. I had no issues with them in the years I had it, but my nephew ( who in fairness is built like Hagrid) has had to have the pots replaced.
