Anyone here in charge of their bands stage lighting? I’m considering dipping my toes into this one for the band. We play a lot of gig where we have to supply our own light and sound.
The singer does all the PA work and its a lot. He often shows up 2-3 hours before the gig just to get everything together. It’s his system and other than load in/out he doesn’t accept much help. Often, I find myself looking for stuff to do while he works on 7 miles of cable and equipment.
Well our lights are as basic as you can get. So let’s pretend we are starting from zero.
Since we are The Big Rig Outlaws, this is my vision. I’m thinking the default while the band isn’t playing to look like the front of a peterbuilt truck. Then when the bad plays, the lights move. I figure a couple of vertical light bars. Center stage behind the drums, overhead horizontal pars hight up and blinders near the front of the stage and maybe some fog and a controler of course.
Is there anyone here to weigh in on such matters?
