Starting Over

I understand that I am a begineer. I am really loving the learning process. I reached lesson 8 but started over because I was developing bad habits. Am I by myself on this? Or is this worth it.

You are not alone! I backtracked a few times to correct bad ergonomics. It was nice to go back to lessons that felt easy to play and be able to focus on the technique instead of the playing.

I’m also a fan of repeating the entire course from beginning to end. Seems like every new go-round I discover some gem from Josh that I didn’t catch the previous time.

It’s definitely worth it. The B2B course is not a one-and-done affair. Instead, consider it a learning resource that you’d benefit from revisiting whenever you need more practice, or if you’d want to improve a particular technique or theory concept.

Many Buzzers have worked through the entire course two, three, and more times.

The more experience you accumulate, the more you realize there’s so much more to learn, practice, polish. B2B is the perfect vehicle for that recurring journey.

Definitely not on your own here :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: I’ve just started going through the course for the 2nd time - not only am I picking up little bits I missed the first time round, but it’s also great to see how much my play has improved from when I first started.

It’s going to take me a while since I’m doing it alongside TalkingBass, but it’s nice to take my time over it. I also live in eternal hope that Josh is secretly working on a “Badass 2 Extreme Badass” course in the future

Modules 7 and 8 are also where I added two drills to my regular practice to improve fundamentals.

Practice this Everyday and

Fix Flying Fingers.

This is so, Like Archie Bell and the Drells–of Houston Texas–I can do the Tighten Up. Then make it mellow.

I got to Module 7 and have been away from the bass for about 5 months. I tried to jump back in, but was too much.

Decided just to start from the beginning but will likely do the lesson and the fast workout for the first few modules.

Thats what I am afraid of, putting it down and forgetting what I have learned. I try to do a 1/2 hour a day minimum.
