Stevie Ray Vaughan

Many of the younger folks here won’t remember him or even know who he is.

Thirty years ago, August 27, 1990, we lost one of the great rock/blues guitarists and singers. Stevie Ray Vaughan’s chopper crashed after a performance in Wisconsin. Fortunately, Eric Clapton (which whom he was perfoming) was on another chopper.

I loved Stevie Ray, and had seen him live on two occasions in Dallas. I was devastated when I heard this news, and am still sad when I think about it. I have a couple of his CDs, which I will be playing all day in his honor.

Rock/blues may not be your thing, but you have to admit he was damned good at it. Oddly, as good as he was, he couldn’t read a lick of music.

Love SRV! I’m trying to find sheet music to “Texas Flood”.

SRV didn’t know how to read music, he did everything by ear so I don’t know how much of his sheet music will be out there, unless there are people transcribing it.

You can play along with this just about using the lesson in the B2B course :+1: Good fun too

SRV and Double Trouble are one of my all time favorites. He was truly one of the greats and still somewhat under appreciated. It was a tragic loss, especially after finally getting clean.
