Agree. The pick guard is fair game.
I might buy some that fit my guitar and decorate a couple. Whether or not I actually install them is another story.
Maybe I will just use them as wall art in my practice area.

In the image posted by @Whying_Dutchman with the stickers plastered all over it⦠Wouldnāt something like that need to be clear-coated if used on a regular basis?
I do not have my technical playing chops yet, but I envision it being a nuisance for those that do if the stickers start to delaminate⦠especially in the thumb placement areas.
That bass is gorgeous! No stickers necessary.
I might put one on the pick guard if I ever find one that I feel I simply must put there, but not the body. I really like how satin finish on the wood looks.
If I ever acquire a used bass that has a battle scarred body I may paint and pinstripe the heck out of it. Especially if I can find an old Warlock.
I love this! Well done.
Yep - the guy that did that used āMod Podgeā after applying all the stickers.
He made only one mistake: not put stickers on the headstockā¦
I dunno⦠leaving it clean is perhaps an homage to the original Beginnings of the guitar as it came from the factory? It can Remain the Same in itās pure function of needing to mount the machines.
After seeing it with the neck in all it glory it seems to make sense (as opposed to just the body only as indicated in the first images.)
Kindaā reminds me of this one that Harrison used:
Notice the inscription: āBEBOBALULAā ā¦I never knew that was there until I went looking for an image of this guitar!
There is a whole discussion about the pros and cons of putting stickers on the headstock on zzzeee Zzzermann forum.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, but the owner is absolutely wrong to not put stickers on the headtstock.
We are planning an old fashioned duel, to resolve this matter
Also, itās a Harley Benton. Not much hommage here, Iām afraid!
One thing I do know: one of my basses will have these stickers all over - if I canāt find enough farting/barfing unicorns or dinosaurs
No stickers on my basses, just beautiful woods and finishes.
No sticker shaming intended. Theyāre just not my jam.
Youāre a tattoo artist?

I have, and it has helped me immensely!
I bought some of those tiny fret marker stickers but couldnāt bring myself to actually put them ON either of my basses.
So I am a fan of stickers. I have been holding onto sticker for decades. I have been slapping stickers on everything for decades. I enjoy supporting bands by purchasing their stickers.
My first bass was a 5 String and I treat that bass like a golden god. Its a black Ibanez and definitely on the higher end. I purchased that sucker with a beautiful Line 6 15inch bass cabinet. That bass is still in pristine condition.
I then purchased a used 4 sting Ibanez that came with that red and black star sticker. So that was the crack in the damn that allowed for the flood of stickers. The ALL ASS NO GAS sticker was a birthday present. The lime green GJ sticker represents Friday Night Bike Night here in Grand Junction Colorado. The last yellow sticker with the hang loose hand was the first sticker that I added. I placed that sticker there because the bottom of the wrist lines up with the port for my cable to the cabinet. When I first picked up that bass , I would miss fire that port constantly. So when I am on stage , one wrap around my strap in case I step on the cord while playing , and lining up my cord with that hand becomes easy peasy.
So in closing
5 Sting , No
4 String , U Bet
Party On And Tickle That G String ,
Cheers
Hereās two pics you can get printed, Iāve blown them up, laminated them and now there on the studio wall and look great.
Thanks brother. I like this idea better. Iām in my 60s and have only been learning/playing for about 8 months. I got this course a year ago, right after i bought myself my first bass a a birthday present to myself. Then immediately after getting it I had carpal tunnel release surgery and couldnāt start playing for another 4 months.
Good choice not using themā¦
@Tokyo_Rat - those are some cool stickers. Japan-only, I guess?
Some maybe but most are just a sticker pack from Amazon
