Surgery....gonna slow down my Progress

I have been enjoying the B2B course and have been progressing well on a steady diet of Josh’s courses. A Big Thank You to Josh! I started on 12/11/25 and as of today I am 1/2 way through the course, Module 9 just popped up. However, next Thursday 1/8/26 am having my left shoulder rebuilt, surgery left Rotator cuff. This is going to put a small speed bump in the road. My golf game and my bass playing are going to have to get put on the shelf for a while. I will be back stronger than before, but this is going to halt the two things I like doing most, Golf and Bass. As Arnold said, “I’ll be back”!

Heal quickly! You’ll be back on bass before the course for sure :sign_of_the_horns:t2:

I asked the same question a couple months ago HERE.
Some good feedback from members in this forum… I am sure they can pipe in again.

I empathize with you and wish you the best. Bass aside- do what the doctors and physical therapist tell you. This is (was) my second surgery on the R-side, I had both done about 20 years ago. I cam through the most recent one OK. Not much pain during recovery, I kept up with the “pain management” by keeping ahead of it before the chance of any onset. I am in a fortunate position of being able to take off for a month from work. I had no pressure and could really recouperate as well as relax… it was a vacation of sorts.

Member @Wombat-metal recommended the D’Addario VariGrip. I bought it and also got a a Fiddilink thingy… both of these really kept somewhat of a finger focus.
You state procedure on the left shoulder… are you a righty bass player? If so, the exercise tools will help your plucking hand dexterity. I am now using those devices for both hands now.

Wishing you the best on the procedure and recovery!

Just guessing from your username handle… you must be a skier having had that procedure done previously… and you are a skier down the hill from me in Denvertown???

ACL = my initials, 5280 = I live in Broomfield CO. Skier in my younger life, yes, but not anymore. I’m 68 years young now. Golf is an has been my focus for quite a while now. Bass lately too. I have a Trackman Golf Simulator in my home. I practice golf 2 hours a day, everyday. I know… Nuts, right? I’ll be back I know that, same doctor did my right shoulder a few years ago. I’m right handed. Thank you for the well wishes!

Surgery was a success, recovery has been rough. I am now 8 weeks post surgery and back to the B2B studying. I treated myself to something I have wanted for a long time.

Been there, done that 6 months ago… rotator cuff, torn bicep tendon and healing good as well.
DO WHAT YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPISTS TELL YOU TO DO!!!
Can’t stress that enough. It may not be fun, but you gotta’ do it.

This is my second shoulder being fixed by the same Doctor. So I’ve had the right should done in 2019 and the left done in 2026. I am doing exactly what the doc and PT tell me to do, that is for sure! Thanks for everyone’s care and concern.
