Heh, I know, I just couldn’t resist the joke as in the movie the earthlings (Robert Duncan McNeill/Tom Paris from Star Trek Voyager) keeps calling it a cool new synthesizer.
i have no idea what any of this is ![]()
there is a very large part of me that wants this so bad. there is also a part of me that says I don’t need a $500 kalimba. but man this looks like fun.
What a weird and unique little synth. I mean I would never use it, but it sounds cool.
umm nm
i just deleted that post, because what it looked like to me from the itty bitty thumbnail was a synthesizer made with vacuum tubes. but they’re actually just really tall ugly knobs ![]()
but anyhoo, yeah. synths with vacuum tubes
why isn’t that a thing
The motor synth has motors for oscillators ![]()
Yes it does and it’s pretty badass
hah, of course its a thang
here you go
tube based 303-like thing with a Moog filter
Sounds good. TBH though the star of this thing is the filter and not the tube oscillator, IMO. That’s a nice sounding ladder filter.
Bad Gear’s take:

My first and still one of my favorites. Arturia’s got a fantastic plugin that is just spot on. And also the Minifreak which is also a hybrid and is capable of all this.
OK already. Arturia’s V Collection install doesn’t create shortcuts to the standalone versions. Your post has finally motivated me to take the time to do that. Then I’ll have to run each synth, set the ASIO driver and resize the UI. Busy work x2 that I’ve been putting off. Perfect for an end-of-the-day burned out session. ![]()
of course it is
which makes it about 1/99th the cost of a Model D. Pennies on the dollar ![]()
I will be surprised if Behringer doesn’t pin this comment:
Actually if you like the idea of the Mini, their full Model D clone isn’t much more:
