I’ve been so busy lately so I’m late to the party on this one. I have yet to finish my current self-challenge so I’ll sit this out. I’ll definitely try the exercises in the future!
Good luck to all the participants!

I’m a bit late to the party but I had a go up to level 3 and it’s great fun, I love that backing track. I’ll give it a go but I’m not promising I’ll upload anything
The fretting too hard thing is interesting, I recently started with a new bass teacher and he wants me to fret harder, not because I’m buzzing but because he thinks it’s affecting my tone, which isn’t something I’ve heard before.
The guy is a proper session musician who’s played with some really famous people though, so I don’t really feel like I can tell him that guys on the internet told me I shouldn’t do that…
Ok level 4 first day…
Did not get better after a coffee
This is getting hard… tomorrow hopefully I can post something that remotely resembles level 5
I now have it cycling around my brain a large percentage of the time
Waking up in the middle of the night screaming
I can see some improvement, but I’m still to slow for level 3. I’ll started the exercises and we will see…
Keep going! Let’s do this!
Day 5 Level 5 first try…
Now let’s see what happens in the next days…
Oh and iron out the mistake in bar 3 that I consistantly make
Great job from everybody so far! Hope to see you all at today’s live hang at 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. Launch Meeting - Zoom Maybe @JoshFossgreen would like to attend today to tell us “in person” what he wants from us in this challenge? As an almost 50-year-old fanboy hoping to meet my Jedi Master!
BTW, here is my day 9. https://youtu.be/LzSPZY0tFyA
Wow , good progress ! @Johnnyb you"ll nail it soon !
I"m at about 75% speed on that one and struggeling
But it’s not september yet…
Nice, you’re doing so well I’m improving, but need work to play levels 4 and 5 consistently.
I think anyway, now having it in my head to think about fret pressure and positioning etc is really useful. I keep doing a mental check.
It’s also feels like a tongue (hand?) twister to keep it gentle with fretting fingers without automatically being too soft with plucking hands.
Haha, sorry I couldn’t make this one! Read this forum post too late, I did. (insert yoda emoji, why is there no yoda emoji?)
Hope y’all are doing okay with this challenge, hit me if you have questions!
Looks fun.
Sorry, I have had little time and I couldn’t record a video…
Very good👏
I’ve made that face a lot too @BozzerWolf , especially if I’ve struggled for a bit, then as soon as I’m doing well the backing music loop finishes
I don’t believe you @saroohoo , you seem so calm and relaxed in your video
This challenge is really fun, and the exercises are great. I will keep it in my training routine, and maybe not in two weeks but in two years I’ll master level 5.
Well in my before video I tried to just keep the bits where I actually managed to play the notes, to compare the technique better … but you’re not seeing the complete **** either side of the snippets!
Believe me, screwfaces have been made . I should probably keep in more of the messing up beforehand to get a truer sense of my progress, I was managing to be way more consistent today.
