The Iron Maiden of Techique

Pretty much all the time. Either Superior Drummer 3, or this:

We don’t use anything when we’re practicing in the studio, and as such our songs float about a bit, but at home on my own, especially if I’m also using an arpeggiated synth line, I always use a beat buddy pedal - they’re absolutely awesome!

  • Sometimes nothing (not good)
  • Sometimes a metronome (usually boring)
  • Sometimes drum beats or backing tracks (much more fun, but never know what to choose otherwise I would do this more).

I went the multipurpose route and got a snark tuner. Got the metronome built in. I guess it works good, on account its one less thing to carry around.

Technically, your Drummer is not using anything, and you guys are using your drummer.

True, and i have to sometimes slow him down with tbe bass to keep it in time. Along with the vocals which help.

Drummer doesnt use a click track either so its all a bit freeform.

We tried to sort one of the tracks in ableton to get the tempo solid all the way through but it took all the magic away so we just leave them as they are now. We’re only talking slight fluctuations, nothing massive.

Guess we’re more a live band than we are a studio band but thats cool.
