Yes, you are right and it should be a good opportunity to learn different ways of punching in. I have so far mostly relied on different takes and clipping them together “by hand”.

This is a perfectly viable method, is simple, and works the same across all DAW. In fact it’s usually what I do too rather than the literal punchin.

Thanks @joergkutter and @JerryP I want to start to balance my practice with not just covering songs, but also trying to play with a drum track and see what comes out. If anything interesting comes out of that, I’ll pop them on this thread (which I think the idea for this thread is great).

Jerry, I definitely want to fool around with this a bit more and maybe add a pre-chorus and chorus and then a bridge and see how it goes.
