Good stuff. I’ve gone back to spending 10 minutes (2 5 minute chunks) at the beginning of my practice playing simple stuff to a metronome. A drum track is great and all. More fun than a metronome. Setting a metronome at 60 bpm and playing quarter notes doesn’t leave a lot of room to hide bad timing.
I love that BB2024X (the chrome control plate gives it away).

I never use it once,

But I’ve played with a drum pedal (BeatBuddy) for over 4 years every day and it’s 100% been good for my playing. My internal sense of rhythm is significantly improved by listening to and interacting with an accurate beat every time I practice. YMMV.

100%, practicing with drums (or metronome, you sick bastards) is key to improving rhythm.

I mean, I can replay accurate beat without any tools assist if I remember the line. Because anyone’s brain is limited memory, me too.
It’s god giving, and it’s helping me play so far.
How do you check that you are actually being even and accurate with your rhythm?

Weren’t those characters in the Discworld novels? Diminutive creatures who ran the rail systems around Ankh-Morpork. That’s why the trains were always on time.

Saved $$$ with Online Metronome. Amazon reviews of inexpensive digital metronomes left me very wary of any product costing less than $80.
“Alexa, play metronome sixty BPM”
or
“Alexa, play 80 BPM.”
Alexa claims to be able to play from 40 to 240 BPM, but I can only get from 40 to 110 BPM, and no triples.
Isn’t that a thing? Maybe this shows that one needs to improve one’s timing rather than to hide the flaws?
I just bought a fairly cheap drum machine, under $200, the Korg KR-11, and I absolutely love it. It has so many options, and very easy to learn how to use, a lot of them are very complicated, and I like to keep it relatively simple. Check it out, both Sweetwater and Guitar Center now have them in stock again. Mine was on backorder for over a month, but it was well worth the wait. Let the creating begin, playing other people’s songs can get old after awhile.
