The Zoom B1 Four

So perfect for a beginner like me, had read the manual like 10 times - and 99% of it still did not make sense
So this made me figure out some of the things, Ill dont understand in the manual - thanks.

Hey Barney- as a new owner of the B1 FOUR I’d be interested in your guide too

Scroll up this thread and read what I’ve written already.

Great tutorials, I’ve also just gotten one of these and have been having a good time fiddling with the stuff on it. Thank you for the effort throwing this together @Barney

I have one of these too but have not used it much so far. I downloaded the manuals/patch list etc so will work through them in slow time.

Fiddling is the way to go.
I have a phaser patch for “Have a Cigar” some reverb patches for “One of these Days” and even made a surf guitar patch for Apache, Pipeline etc. a few others too.

Not sure if here is the place.
I was fiddling with the Zoom and thought I would experiment with the looper finally.
I am trying to learn some guitar too so I made this, I did a better one earlier but lost it because the Zoom can’t save or export files.
There are 3 tracks on this.
@Bassbot what audio file types can I attach?

You cant “attach” files here on the forum. You put it on something like youtube or soundcloud and link it here…

Cool, I’ll try that when I get home.

Quick question:

If I want to connect the Zoom B1Four to Focusrite Scarlett (4i4) for recordings, is it best to use a normal instrument cable as the connector (TS) but I should make sure the Scarlett input is set to line in? If it’s set to instrument in, it could cause clipping etc?

(I’m trying to understand this stuff but find it a bit baffling! Sorry if I missed this in an existing thread)

Should still be instrument in.
If it starts to clip even when you have the gain set very low, you can switch to line in, or do it the other way around: if there is not enough signal, it doesn’t really start to clip when gain is all up, switch to INST.

Thanks @Malyngo , I’ll have a play around with it :+1:

I’d just use a normal guitar cable and select Inst.

If the 4i4 works the same as the Solo, then you can adjust the input level by turning the knob that has the light ring abound it, making sure it stays green, rather than going orange or red, to avoid clipping.
