Playing Creep by Radiohead (a very easy beginner bass line). There’s a section where we walk down from C to G.
Being a beginner and working from ear and not tabs, I walked up the A string to F and then jumped back to down G on the E string.
Anyway, last night I’m laid in bed just nodding off when I thought… I played the dotted notes, it wasn’t F, it was F# you fool.
Then the next brain wave hit me, why didn’t I cross over to the D string and play D, E & F from there, it would have been much easier.
So this morning I did and it is.
