Thomann and back in action

Hey fellow buzzers.

I’ve been rather absent here for a long time, not by my own choice by more by the choice of circumstances. As some of you know, last year we had a fire and we are still not done renovating. Contractors have screwed us on several occasions causing massive delays.

My health also took a turn for the worse. Doctor was concerned about my kidneys and liver, but it seems to have settled again. Some diet choices will need to be made though. Also been suffering from panic attacks while driving etc etc…

But enough of the doom and gloom! I just turned 48 and my wife had a very special surprise for me. I got an sms with a reservation for an inn for one night. Looking up the location I could see it was close to Nürnberg, Germany, which is about 5 hours from us here in Luxembourg. That could only mean one thing: Thomann musikhaus! Those 3 days of waiting to get on the road felt so very long.

We arrived 10:00 am and it’s simply mind blowing. 4 floors of music instruments, equipment and passionate, friendly people. I’ve been in the market for a new amp, since my Cort 40w does not have a great sound. I told my wife since I’m not gigging and don’t know if I ever will, I’m not looking for a big rig, just something to give me a nice sound.

We spend quite an hour, just gawping at the selection. Since they cannot have everything that they have in stock on display, sometimes they need to fetch it from the warehouse, which they are happy to do. Next year, an additional building will be constructed, giving them showrooms of over 10.000 m2. I’m going for that opening!

I will not make this any longer even though I could go on and on, but instead share some pics. You’ll find me in the GAS thread later today, since I’m finishing the floor and skirting boards today and setting everything up. Here comes some pics!

I’m going to read your story to my girlfriend; I live in Rome (Italy), Nürnberg is not far away :unamused:
