As I’m going through the course, I kept finding myself wanting to focus more on reading music, but finding myself looking at the tab too much as a crutch. I can read sheet music, but the treble clef is what I’m used to.
My solution is pretty basic… exit full screen mode and scroll up so I can see the sheet music and not the tab. Luckily the sheet music is on top of the tab, so this is pretty simple to view this way. I also work on naming the notes I’m playing as I do this. It’s pretty hard, but I know it will get easier. Note: You can zoom you browser screen so it is almost full screen.
