Hey guys, anyone have experience with the Traynor Bass Mate 25 amp? One came up used (in very good condition) on FB Marketplace for 80CAD and it seems like a good deal. Can’t find it new locally to check how it sounds, so curious to see if anyone has ever used one and could offer some insight.
For context, I’m currently only playing by myself at home, using the Vox amPlug3, cause I can only practice when my two very young kids are sleeping. I’m only thinking of a practice amp as the next step up, definitely not gonna be doing any major gigs any time soon
You’re most likely 100% right on this one, but also even if I do get the amp, for the foreseeable future I would still only use it with headphones. The EQ can’t hurt though and I can experiment with tones.
Really I guess it’s like @Al1885 said, I hear they’re a decent brand. I was more looking to see if anyone would say “don’t ever get it, I got one and it died on me within a year” or any quality issues in general.
I’ve honestly been eyeing the Orange Crush 50 and/or the Ashdown Engineering Studio 10 new, but I’d rather not spend that kind of money now. Plus for whatever reason, they never show up used locally. I’m also honestly kinda drawn to the Traynor because of price: 80$ is hard to beat for a decent amp.
Side note and I could generate a lot of hate: I once had a Rumble 25, it was OK in the same way a Toyota Corolla is OK. It works, but in just a plain and predictable sort of way, I would be more excited for something different.
