Tried and returned a 12 string bass.
I guess it was a good idea on paper.
Like trying to build a watch while wearing boxing gloves.

What was it? 4 courses of 3, 6 courses of 2, 12 individual?
I hope you gave it a fair shot before returning it. Even though they are called basses, all of the above should be approached as if you were learning a totally new instrument… because you are.

3 course. Original octave, one octave up, two octaves up.
Gave it a good try. Hard to press against fingerboard and each note too wide because of the three strings to press.
May be alright for a special effect.

Yeah, those things aren’t very good “everyday” basses, but they get a cool sound!
