Probably a question for @Al1885 but any advice is appreciated.
I was wondering if the TruOil coating needs a refresh at any time especially in a wear area such as the back of the neck?

Only if it feels raw to you in my opinion. I’d love that worn look.
I haven’t reapplied any TruOil yet they still look good but I did with the boiled linseed oil project reapplied already. The neck felt a little raw so I just did a quick and dirty 2 coat and it’s just smooth as the first time.
I did the TruOil reapplication on my rifle and shotgun a few times already it’s easy. Just have to remember to wipe them off after a few minutes.

TruOil will wear off, @Mac. If you want a smooth, consistent finish, reapply at the first hint of dryness. If not, let it go until you see the worn finish you like.
