Hello, i will be playing in a college dorm so i am getting a headphone amp to use. The first lesson uses a tuner to tune the bass do these work with headphone amps? Is there a different way to tune if i am using headphone amps?

Depends on the type of tuner.
Clip on. Yup
Wired - yup.
App on phone - depends if headphone amp is integrated, yup, if trying to tune over airspace - nope

Have you picked which headphone amp you are getting yet? Amps like the Fender Mustang Micro Plus and Boss Katana Go have a tuner.
Headstock tuners will work regardless of what you have as they get the vibration through the headstock, but they can sometimes be a bit temperamental with bass compared to guitar.
